Description

This product is a blend of essential ingredients, including omega 3, 6 and 9, which have been designed to address the issues which are associated with poor skin and coats, in both cats and dogs. The supplement is aimed at producing and maintaining a healthy natural sheen which helps form a protective barrier against infections and allergies.

Fatty acids are among the most commonly used nutritional supplements given to dogs and cats. omega-3 and omega-6 are both classed as polyunsaturated fats and cannot be metabolised by an animal’s body. This means the only way to get the benefits of these nutrients is through their diet.

With omega-3, the number of foods containing it are rather limited. The main source of the fatty acid is in the fat of cold water fish. It is also present in foods such as walnuts and flaxseeds, however, the omega-3 from these sources, is not in the most useful form and has to be converted in the body in order to give the maximum benefit.

Omega-6 fatty acids are also present in many modern feeds from dry processed food (kibble) through to wet canned food. As well as being derived from plant and seed sources, the quality of the omega-6 tends to be of poor quality.

The omega fatty acids are important in the manufacture of hormones in the body, however, those which are derived from omega-3 tend to counteract the effects of those which are present due to the omega-6. Hormones which originate from omega-6 fatty acids tend to increase inflammation (an important component of the immune response), blood clotting, and cell proliferation and it is these which contribute to conditioning the skin and coat. The hormones which are the result of omega-3 fatty acids have the opposite effect. It is, therefore, extremely important that the balance of the two is such that the full benefits of the fatty acids are experienced.

Delivery Information

For all orders placed on our website, we send these out with free delivery within the UK. In most cases delivery should be between 3 to 5 days, however, for orders with addresses in Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and UK Islands delivery can take slightly longer. Once items are passed to the carrier, we cannot control any delays in their network due to unforeseen external factors, such as bad weather.

We ship orders every day from Monday through to Friday, and any orders placed before 1pm will generally be shipped on that day, unless this falls on a public holiday. Orders placed after the 1pm cut-off will be dispatched on the following working day. Please note that we don't ship items over the weekend, so orders placed after 1pm on Friday, or on Saturday and Sunday, will not be dispatched until the following Monday.

When orders are placed on our website we decide the best method of fulfilling the order so that it is delivered to you as soon as possible. This normally means that the order is shipped directly from our own warehouse, but we may decide in some cases to use one of our alternative fulfilment networks. For example, we sell many of our products through Amazon and store high levels of inventory in their UK fulfilment centres. Certain orders, placed on our website, may be shipped directly from one of these secondary sources, in order to prevent any delays in receiving your order. This may mean that the outer protective packaging, used for shipping, may have unexpected branding printed on it.
