Fatty acids are among the most commonly used nutritional supplements given to dogs and cats. omega-3 and omega-6 are both classed as polyunsaturated fats and cannot be metabolised by an animal’s body. This means the only way to get the benefits of these nutrients is through their diet.
With omega-3, the number of foods containing it are rather limited. The main source of the fatty acid is in the fat of cold water fish. The hormones which are the result of omega-3 fatty acids have the opposite effect. It is, therefore, extremely important that the balance of the two is such that the full benefits of the fatty acids are experienced.
This product comes in a pack containing 120 softgel capsules. These can be served directly or mixed with food if required. For easy administration break open or pierce the gel capsule and mix with food. If giving more than one gel capsule a day, it is best to split these between morning and evening if possible.
